BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A shelter-in-place has been lifted in Baytown after a tank fire on Thursday, according to firefighters.
The City of Baytown said around 7:40 a.m., firefighters were dispatched to a fire at Trek Resources, Inc., located on Causeway Road, off Evergreen Road.
A shelter-in-place order was issued and has since been lifted for the Evergreen Fairways and Trinity Oak subdivisions.
The order was lifted after air quality readings showed no hazardous levels, according to the City of Baytown.
No injuries were reported, and the cause is under investigation by the Baytown Fire Marshal's Office.
City officials said water tankers from Cove, Beach City, and Crosby Volunteer fire departments helped firefighting operations due to the lack of fire hydrants in the area.
Foam trucks were also requested from Harris County Hazmat and ExxonMobil to assist with suppression efforts.
